We thank the Village of North Palm Beach for hosting the League meetings at the North Palm Beach Country Club.

Board Meeting The Board approved James Kanter, P.E. assocaite member application.

The board also approved the recommendation of Commissioner Milton Block, Jupiter Inlet Colony as a regular and Mayor David Stewart, Lantana; Councilmember John Callaghan, Juno Beach; Councilman Matt Willhite, Wellington and Chair Pro Tem Dawn Pardo, Riviera Beach as alternates to the C-51 Governance & Finance Workgroup. The Board approved the League's endorsement of Mayor Sam Ferreri for the National League of Cities Board of Directors. The board heard committee reports from: C-51 Governance & Finance Workgroup, Regional Hazardous materials Oversight Committee, the League Education Committee and the Fire Rescue Committee.

Executive Director Richard Radcliffe informed everyone to mark their calendar for the Legislative Roundtable being held on November 20th at the Atlantis Country Club. He stated that the roundtable will begin at 10 and there will be a lunch that follows. RSVP is required for both. Mr. Radcliffe reminded the board that the Tri-Cities Barbeque will be held on Friday December 6th and that anyone who would like to make a contribution can contact the League office.

General Membership North Palm Beach Mayor William Manuel welcomed the membership to the North Palm Beach Country Club.

Florida League of Cities representative Scott Dudley presented three FLC awards: Friends to the Cities was awarded to Senator Jeff Clemens and Representative Mark Pafford and the Home Rule Hero award was given to Delray Beach Assistant City Attorney Terrill Pyburn.

Our featured speaker was Delray Beach Assistant City Attorney Terrill Pyburn who spoke about Sober Houses. Handouts that were provided were FAQ's on Sober Houses/Recovery Residences and Senate Bill 738 Committee Amendments rev. 4-10-13.

Next month we will be hosted by the City of Boynton Beach at Benvenuto's Caterestaurant in Boynton Beach. RSVP is required for the General Membership Meeting.
