July 2012 Meetings Recap
We thank the Village of Wellington for hosting us at their bustling Community Center.
Board Meeting Lake Worth Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell was appointed as the League Representative on the Community Land Trust board of directors, and Royal Palm Beach Councilmember Jeff Hmara was appointed as an alternate on the Water Resources Task Force. Both appointments were ratified at the General Membership meeting. We appreciate their service on behalf of the League.
President Todd Wodraska, Palm Beach Shores Commissioner Lisa Tropepe, and Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Susan Haynie were nominated to the Florida League of Cities Board of Directors. In the event that any of the three are unable complete the term, West Palm Beach Commissioner Isaac Robinson, Jr. was named as the replacement.
Executive Director Richard Radcliffe's contract was renewed, and proposed changes to the League's Articles of Incorporation and By-laws were approved. The amendments have been distributed to the membership, and scheduled to be ratified at the August 29th General Membership meeting.
Former Lake Worth Commissioner Retha Lowe was appointed to the Commission on Ethics. (She subsequently resigned from the appointment; this issue will be revisited at the August 29th meeting with the current applicants.)
The Board approved new members Anthony Government Solutions and Feeding South Florida. Welcome to the League!
