Welcome to the League of Women Voters Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County League of Cities
February 10, 2012

In January, the Palm Beach County League of Cities welcomed its newest member: the League of Women Voters Palm Beach County.

The national League has been in existence since 1920, and the county League was formed in 1958. They are “a non-partisan political organization of women and men of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging informed and active participation in government.” The League of Women Voters will take positions on issues, but never on candidates.

Some of their services and programs include voter education, a speakers bureau, candidate forums, and the Eckler Citizenship Award. They are currently involved in several candidate forums for the March 13th municipal elections.

Mary Jane Range, who manages the forums and the speakers bureau, feels joining the Palm Beach County League of Cities will result in a synergistic, beneficial partnership.

Ms. Range said “In this election year, it’s important to use the resources available, and the League of Women Voters is one of them.”

We are happy to have LWV join our family and look forward to working together.
